Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Grease a baking dish.

Wash the cabbage and cut into fine strips. Blanch in salted water. Dice the tomatoes.

Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices. Put half of them in the baking dish.

Spread cabbage and tomatoes on top.

Layer the second half of the potatoes on top like a roof tile.

Mix eggs, milk, cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg and pour over the casserole.

Sprinkle with the grated cheese and place in the middle rack of the oven. Bake until the potatoes are cooked through.
