For the red cabbage soup, soak the raisins in 2 tablespoons of water.

Clean red cabbage, remove hard stalk and ribs and cut finely.

Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes.

Peel apples, cut into quarters, remove core and cut into cubes.

Heat the olive oil in a pot and sauté the red cabbage. Add the potatoes and fry.

Deglaze with vinegar, add soup and diced apples and raisins.

Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and sugar. Simmer for about half an hour until the cabbage is soft.

Cut the bacon into fine strips and fry in a pan until crispy.

Arrange the red cabbage soup in soup bowls and serve sprinkled with the bacon strips.
