Instructions:

Red wine garlic:

Bend onions apart so cloves stand apart in a wreath shape. Place in an ovenproof dish and season a little with salt. Cover halfway with red wine and marinate for at least 6 hours, turning once to the other side. Now pour off the wine and bake at 200 °C for 60 minutes (gas:3), basting with red wine in between. Serve hot with white bread (e.g. ciabatta) and olive oil. Press cloves on greased bread.

White wine garlic:

Prepare garlic as above and season with salt. Mix turmeric and saffron threads with a little wine and heat, stirring, until saffron gives color. Add remaining wine, cool a little and marinate and bake as above.

To serve: Olives

The most amazing thing, besides the flavor, is the rich color that the onions get when marinated. However, do not take anything on the following two days where the flag could interfere.

Our tip: Use your favorite red wine for cooking!
