Instructions:

For all those who like to bake themselves, but with the dough kneading yet not so much on the mind: Just use ready-made puff pastry! Place the puff pastry sheets together, defrost and then glue the edges together.

For the filling, melt the honey, fold in the chopped nuts, also stir in the crème fraîche and the egg yolks.

If the roll is too soft at this point, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for half an hour. Then cut diagonally into slices the thickness of a small finger. Place side by side on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Additional brushing will not be necessary because the filling will release enough juice. Bake at 180 degrees (hot air) in a heated oven for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Drink: afternoon coffee, cocoa or a fruit juice spritzer.

Since the puff pastry tastes absolutely neutral, you can also bake savory bunny ears with it, with a filling of cream cheese and herbs.

Cut the bacon into strips, these diagonally into cubes. Sauté with the very finely diced onion. When the onion is soft, add the chopped garlic and sauté briefly – it should soften but not turn brown.

Finally, fold in the cream cheese and the spices. Spread this amount on the dough and continue as described above.

Drink: a pilsner or possibly also the aperitif champagne.

Our tip: use a deliciously spicy bacon
