For the vanilla salt, pour the salt into the jar, cut out the vanilla beans, scrape out the pith and add to the salt.

Cut the pods into small pieces and add them to the jar as well. Let stand for at least 3-4 weeks, shaking occasionally.

Now you can either fill the vanilla salt into a salt mill and use it, or pulverize it with a grinder.

This has the advantage that the pods are also crushed and intensify the aroma again.
