Remove the skin from the raw potatoes and grate finely. Heat the canola oil in a roaster and sauté the bacon and onions. Add the grated potatoes. Stir in the oatmeal and beaten eggs, season with a little salt, pepper and freshly grated nutmeg.
Loosely place the sausages and cover with a little bit of potato mixture.
Cook the roaster with the lid closed in the oven heated to 180 degrees for about 2 hours.
Tip:
The kettle bang will be juicier if you add about 250 ml of clear soup.
