For the Erdäpfel-Grammel-Strudel peel the onion and cut into cubes. Peel and coarsely grate the raw potatoes.
Sauté the onions in oil and add the grated potatoes and roast for some time until the potatoes are almost cooked through. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, cumin and turmeric.
Allow to cool. Then mix in the grams. Place a package of strudel dough (2 sheets) on a baking sheet, brush some liquid butter between the two strudel sheets.
Spread the filling on top, fold the dough in a little at the sides and then roll it up. Brush the surface with the remaining butter and bake in a preheated oven (200 degrees, top/bottom heat) for about 25 minutes.
