Pour boiling water over the oatmeal and let it swell. Dissolve yeast and honey in lukewarm milk or water and let rest for 10 minutes.
Mix wheat flour, bread spices and salt and mix with the swollen oat flakes and yeast milk (water) to form a smooth dough. Let rise in a warm place for 1 1/2 hours.
Knead dough and place in a greased loaf pan sprinkled with oatmeal and let rise again for 30 minutes.
Brush the dough skin with water and bake the oatmeal bread at 200 °C for 50 to 60 minutes.
