Instructions:

Remove the tough leaves from the leeks, cut them in half and rinse them. Blanch the leek halves in boiling hot salted water. Cool in cold water and cut into ten centimeter long pieces. Roll the ham slices and clamp them between two leek halves. Fix with kitchen string.

Grease an ovenproof dish with butter and fill it with the leek rolls. Cut the cheese into thin slices and cover the leeks with them. Sprinkle with parsley, grated white bread and butter flakes. Briefly gratinate under the broiler. Sprinkle with coarse pepper and bring to the table.

Tip: It’s best to use your favorite ham – then your dish will taste twice as good!
