Homemade horse treats are a great gift idea for horse owners, but of course your horses also like to nibble their own baking creations!

To these ingredients you can add a handful of rosehip peel, nettle herb, peppermint herb, cough herb or other kitchen herbs. Later you will have a sticky mixture that needs to be kneaded thoroughly. Form into balls the size of cherries and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the cookies in a heated oven at 180 °C for about ten minutes. You have to wait a few days before feeding the cookies, until they are well hardened. If you want to give the treats as a gift, you can think up funny names for them, like Ross-Kuegli, Lecker-Hafer or Bollen Cracker, and decorate the packaging with a homemade tag.

Our tip: It’s best to use fresh herbs for extra flavor!
