For the BBQ sauce, peel and finely chop the onions, press the garlic cloves through the press, heat the olive oil in a pan and sauté the onions and garlic in it.

Briefly fry the tomato paste, then pour everything from the pan including the remaining ingredients into the slow cooker.

Cook on LOW for 8 hours – if you want the sauce thicker, let it cook without the lid for the last hour.
