For apple-poppy seed cake, first separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Mix yolks, powdered sugar and oil until creamy.

Peel apples and grate finely.

Mix poppy seeds, flour, baking powder and apples into the yolk mixture. Carefully fold in beaten egg whites.

Pour the dough into a greased and floured springform pan (diameter 26 cm). Bake in the oven at 180 °C top-bottom heat for approx. 45-55 minutes.

Allow the apple and poppy seed cake to cool and remove from the tin.
