Apple Compote

Instructions:

Peel the apples, remove the core, cut into wedges and place in lemon water.

Bring 375 ml of water or possibly half of white wine with the vanilla bean, lemon juice, cloves and sugar to the boil, steam the apples in it until soft.

As soon as they are soft, lift them out and arrange them in a glass bowl. Bring the compote juice to the boil briefly and pour over the top.

Put in a cold place.
