Instructions:

For the Roquefort pear casserole, first preheat the oven to 200 °C and butter a baking dish.

Line the bottom of the dish with white bread and pour half of the wine over it.

Now peel the pears, remove the core, cut them into wedges and spread half of them on the white bread. Spread the grated cheese on top, as well as half of the Roquefort cheese cut into cubes and the ham cut into strips.

Next comes another layer of white bread drizzled with the remaining white wine, topped with the remaining pear wedges in the shape of a wreath and sprinkled with the Roquefort.

In the next step, whisk eggs, mix with the other ingredients and pour over the casserole. Bake in the oven on the lowest shelf for 20 minutes. Then spread some butter flakes on the surface and bake for another 20-30 minutes, until the surface of the Roquefort pear casserole is nicely browned and the liquid has set.
