Layer apricots overlapping in well-buttered baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, bake in oven at 200° C for about 1 hour. Allow to cool in the baking dish. Heat sugar with butter in pan until brown and hard (caramelized), add whipping cream and simmer until caramel has liquefied again and sauce has thickened. Serve hot and extra as a dip for the fully cooled cooked apricots or pour over the cooked apricots and serve immediately.
