Instructions:

For the baklava, first mix sugar, nuts, crumbs, cinnamon, cloves. Roll out puff pastry thinly and divide into 5 parts. Spread a buttered mold, about 30 x 20 cm, with one part of the dough and brush with melted butter.

Then sprinkle the pastry part with the nut mixture, place another pastry on top, brush with butter and the nut mixture. The last layer consists of 3 dough pieces buttered dough layers. Butter the surface again, cut into lozenges, prick with a fork and sprinkle with a little water. Bake at 180 degrees for about 25 – 30 minutes.

For the syrup, simmer honey, cinnamon, sugar, cloves and water for about ten minutes. Let the baked baklava cool briefly and then pour the syrup over it while it is still hot.
