Grease a rectangular baking pan and dust with flour.

Separate the eggs. Beat yolks with sugar, vanilla sugar and lemon zest until fluffy.

Beat egg whites to snow. Fold flour alternately with snow into yolk mixture.

Pour into the pan, bake at 160 °C for about 30 minutes (needle test), let cool and cut crosswise.

Wash and clean strawberries, cut into small pieces and mix with powdered sugar.

Whip the cream with cream stiffener and mix in the sugared strawberries.

Spread the whipped cream-strawberry mixture on the bottom cake layer, place the top cake part on top and cut slices.
