Try this delicious cake recipe:

Sugar, vanilla sugar, flour, egg, butter flakes, salt and milk knead together briefly first with the dough hooks of the hand mixer and then with your hands. Cover and leave to cool for about half an hour.

Drain the cherries, finely grate the bread. Grease a baking tray (35×40 cm). Roll out dough on it. Press the edge to a height of about 1 cm.

Prick the bottom a few times. Pre-bake in oven heated to 225 °C for approx.

12 min. Cool.

Mix almond kernels, bread, cinnamon and baking powder. Heat jam, spread through a sieve and spread evenly on the cake. Top with cherries.

Beat eggs, egg whites and sugar until thick and fluffy. Fold in bread-almond mixture in 2-3 portions. Spread evenly on top of cherries. Bake in a 175 °C oven for 40 minutes. Cool.

Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Serve with whipped cream Tip: Freeze well.
