For Swiss Rösti, first peel the potato and grate with a rösti grater.

Press flat slices (about 1 ½ cm thick) together and fry in a pan (15-20 cm diameter) with not too little butter or lard.

When the “Röschti” are crispy on one side, turn them over and fry them until golden on the other side as well.

Season Swiss Rösti with salt and pepper.
