For the polenta balls, put the polenta in a saucepan with the salt and water and bring to a boil. Stir the mixture constantly until the water has evaporated.
If the polenta is not yet cooked, add a little more water. Finally, quickly stir in the egg. Let the polenta cool and form balls with moistened hands.
Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the balls on all sides.
