Cream butter with sugar and vanilla until thick, fold in yolks. Mix flour, almond kernels and baking powder and fold in alternately with the cherry brandy. Whip egg whites with salt until stiff and fold in carefully. At the end, stir in the cherries (perhaps rolled in a tiny bit of flour) and the chocolate chips. Grease a large (30 cm) loaf pan and dust with flour. Bake: Bake in the oven heated to 200 °C on the middle shelf for a total of 55 min. Decoration: Dust with powdered sugar.
