A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Strain sour cherries. Grate the chocolate.

Mix soft butter or possibly light butter with sugar and egg yolks alternately until creamy, add rum and cinnamon. Next, fold in the chocolate, almond kernels and Kölln instant flakes mixed with the baking powder. Whip the egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter. Roll the sour cherries in flour and fold in as well.

Grease a cake springform pan and sprinkle with instant flakes. Pour the batter into it. Bake in the heated oven at 175 degrees, second rack from the bottom, for 60 minutes (make a cooking test).

If the cake is too dark, cover with aluminum foil.

Rest for 5 minutes in the turned off oven and cool. Dust with powdered sugar and serve garnished with cherries.

Serve with whipped cream.
