For the bread dumplings, first cut the old bread into cubes. Mix the flour and season with a pinch of salt. Then whisk the milk and the egg and also stir into the mass. If you like, you can chop the parsley and stir it in as well. If the mixture is too dry, just add a little milk.

Allow the mixture to set a little and have a bowl of water ready. Now dip your hands in the water and form dumplings with your wet hands. It is important to press the dumpling mass firmly into dumplings. Bring salted water to boil in a pot and put the formed dumplings into the boiling water. Bring the water with the bread dumplings to a boil, then turn down the heat and let it steep (at least 20 minutes).
