Mix the flour, wheat bran, baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon in a baking bowl. In a second baking bowl, whisk together the butter, eggs, maple syrup and milk until creamy. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry form and stir everything together.

Rinse the apple and cut into small pieces. Add to the dough with the raisins.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Grease a muffin baking tray or place paper cups in it. Fill the cups about two-thirds full with batter.

Put the baking tray into the hot oven (180 °C /gas mark 3-4) and bake the muffins for 20 minutes. Remove the baking tray from the stove and let the muffins rest for 5 minutes. Remove the muffins from the trays and cool on a wire rack.
