For the sauerkraut gratin, wash the peppers, cut them in half, remove the separating skins and cut into cubes. Drain and rinse the sauerkraut.

Cut the drained sauerkraut into small pieces and fold in the onion and bell pepper mixture, which has been seasoned with salt and bell pepper beforehand, and then pour into a greased form.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the sauerkraut for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Serve with toasted bread or as a side dish.
