For the pile, whisk the eggs with the milk. Cut the buns into flakes and pour the egg milk over them. They should be evenly coated. Peel the apples and cut them into slices.
Brush a baking dish with butter and cover with the soaked rolls. Spread 1/3 of the apples on top and sprinkle with 1/3 raisins, almond slivers and sugar.
Again a layer of breadcrumbs, a layer of apples-raisins-almonds-sugar, a layer of breadcrumbs, a layer of apples-raisins-almonds-sugar and finish with a layer of breadcrumbs.
Bake the pile at 150°C for about 45 minutes.
