Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 200 °C in good time.

Rub the stilts dry, rub them with seasoning salt and brown them on all sides in 40 g lard in a roasting pan.

Pour on some water and cook the stilts, depending on their size, in the preheated oven at 200 °C for about half an hour. Sprinkle with water in between.

Heat another 40 g of lard, add sugar and brown. Add onion, apple and cabbage and stew.

Pour clear soup, add spices and vinegar and stew everything together in about 45 minutes.

Just before the end of cooking time, place stilts on a broiler rack over the grease pan, brush with beer and broil until stilts are crispy. Leave oven door open a crack while doing this.

Season the cabbage and bring to the table with the stilts.
