Mix tea and sugar in a small saucepan and heat to boiling point. Add the raisins, remove from heat and leave to soak for at least 1 hour. Butter a loaf pan and line the bottom with wax paper or parchment. Add the orange zest, butter and eggs to the cooled raisin mixture. In a suitable bowl, sift the flour together with the baking powder and the spice. Mix both mixtures thoroughly. Pour into the pan and bake at 180 °C for about 1 1/2 hours (test with a stick!). Cool in the pan. Cut into 12 slices and bring them to the table lightly buttered.
Our tip: It is best to use fresh herbs for a particularly good aroma!
