For the herring salad, strain the Russians, rinse in cold water and cut into pieces. Put pickled onion rings on the side.

Boil the potatoes, peel and cut into small pieces. Strain the beans, rinse briefly in cold water and drain.

Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces. Cut the cucumbers into small pieces as well. Mix the Russians, potatoes, apples, beans and the cucumbers well.

Add the onion rings. Mix the sour cream with mayonnaise and oil, season with salt and pepper and mix well with the remaining ingredients.

Leave the herring salad to stand well in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
