For the bacon pumpkin, peel the pumpkin and cut into about 15 slices about 2 mm thin. This is best done with the slicer. Mix a marinade from the terriyaki sauce, honey and smoked salt.

Place the pumpkin slices on a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush with the marinade. Dry more than bake at 130 °C in the oven for about 1.5 hours.

Turn again and again to the other side and brush again with the marinade. The consistency of the squash should not be too dry but not soft either – similar to fried bacon.

The smoked salt makes the bacon squash taste similar to bacon, making it a delicious alternative on sandwiches.
