Preheat the oven to 180 °C for the apricot cake with chocolate drops. Separate the eggs and whip the egg whites until creamy. Beat the yolks with the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and lemon zest until fluffy.

Mix flour with baking powder, chocolate drops and salt. Fold flour mixture alternately with beaten egg whites into yolk mixture. Grease a square baking pan with butter and dust with flour, fill in the dough and smooth it down.

Cut apricots in half, remove seeds, sprinkle with coconut flakes and place tightly on the dough. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes. Remove the apricot cake with chocolate drops and let cool.
