Instructions:

In a baking bowl mix baking powder, sugar, flour, baking soda and spices. In a second bowl mix egg, melted butter and buttermilk.

Mix the liquid ingredients into the flour, then add the apple pieces and nuts. Do not stir too much! For the crumble, mix flour, sugar and cinnamon and add the softened butter. Mix with a fork until crumbles form. Pour the muffin batter into greased molds, then spread the crumble evenly over the top. Bake in the oven at 200 °C for about 20 to 25 minutes.

This combination of apples, cinnamon and nuts tastes very American! This sheared cookie is sturdy enough to take along on a picnic.

Tip: Always use aromatic spices to enhance your dishes!
