For the Hunsrück barley soup, first soak barley and peas overnight in 500 ml water. Cut the dried meat into small pieces and fry briefly, pour in 500 ml of water, add the barley and peas together with the soaking water. Also add the chopped celery and leek.

Cook the Hunsrück barley soup for about 60 minutes on low heat, add salt, pepper and soup powder, boil again.
