For the elderberry syrup with red wine, remove the stems from the elderberries and wash them. Bring to a boil with sugar, cinnamon stick and red wine in a saucepan and simmer on low heat for thirty minutes.

Strain the hot puree through a linen cloth. Boil the elderberry syrup with red wine again and pour into hot rinsed bottles. Seal immediately.
