Try this delicious pasta dish:

(Greaseball = older member not born in the Usa) Turn the bell pepper over a flame until evenly blackened. Remove the skin with a potato knife.

Cut open the pepper, remove the inside, dry the flesh and cut into tender strips (with vinegar, oil and herbs, this makes just as wonderful a leafy salad!). Cut open the tomatoes, dice the melanzani, pit the olives and chop the capers. Place the oil, anchovies, garlic clove, melanzane and tomatoes in a frying pan and heat over low heat, stirring, until the melanzane are golden brown. Add basil, olives, peppers, capers and, if necessary, a tiny bit of salt. Mix everything well, put a lid on the frying pan and gently steam the vegetables until soft. Put the pasta in boiling water with a little salt and when it is still firm (al dente), mix it with the sauce and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
