A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Wähen recipes for a baking tray of 26-28 cm ø each.

Remove peel from apples, cut into quarters, remove core. Generously butter the baking tray. Sprinkle sugar regularly on it. Put it into the 250 °C hot stove and let the sugar melt for about six minutes until it caramelizes to a light brown. It is important to watch this process so that the caramel does not get too dark and burn. Immediately remove the baking tray from the heat.

Spread the apple pieces very densely on the baking sheet, place the dough loosely on top, press down the edge of the dough between the apple pieces and the edge of the baking sheet. Bake in the oven at 200 °C for about twenty minutes until brown.

Take the cake out of the oven and immediately turn it out onto a plate. Serve with fluffy whipped cream.
