Peppers with Garlic – Tapas

Instructions:

Cut the peppers at the seams, remove the seed strands and rinse well. Drain well and cut into wide strips. Steam in oil until the strips are soft.

Then season to taste with salt and a few drops of white wine vinegar. Peel the garlic cloves, cut into very thin slices and mix into the peppers. Cover and allow to marinate for one night.

For your information: Tapas is the generic term for the small snacks from Spain. In the past, small slices of white bread were placed as lids on the glasses to keep flies from falling into the drinks. This gave rise to today’s tapas e.g. pinchos, patatas, gambas, calamari and all together with lots of aiolli, served in the typical tapas dessert bowls made of clay.
