Quarter the white cabbage, remove the stem and cut into very fine strips. Place in a suitable bowl and season with salt, pepper and cumin. Press together lightly.

Meanwhile, dice peeled onion as well as bacon. Fry the bacon in a hot pan, then remove and sauté the onion in the fat until translucent.

Season the white cabbage with vinegar and mix the onions with the cabbage.

Arrange the cabbage salad, sprinkle with the crispy bacon cubes.
