Quickly knead butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, flour, spices, salt, almonds and baking powder. Do not work too long, so that the mass does not become too soft. Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to rest. If the dough is too soft, add a little flour, but do not knead too long.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

On a floured work surface, roll out the dough not too thin (about 3 mm). Cut rectangles with a knife or dough roller. Place them on the baking tray. Brush the speculoos with milk and place four almond flakes diagonally in each corner.

Place in the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes.
