For the chocolate cake, beat egg whites until stiff. Beat egg yolks with sugar until foamy, sift in cocoa powder and flour.

Finally, gently fold in the egg whites. Pour the batter into a heart-shaped springform pan lined with baking paper, smooth out and bake at 180 °C for approx. 40 minutes.

Allow the cake base to cool and remove from the springform pan. Cut out the cake base twice and spread with your favorite jam.

Reassemble the cake and place on a rack. Now evenly coat with chocolate icing.
