(*) Cake springform pan of 24 cm ø Beat butter until creamy. Add the sugar. Continue mixing until the mixture is light and creamy. Add one egg at a time, mixing well.
Add the remaining ingredients up to and including baking powder. Mix the heart cherries into the dough.
Preheat the oven to 150 °C. Line a cake springform pan with parchment paper, pour in the batter. Evenly distribute the almond kernels in a circle on the cake.
Bake whisky cake in the center of the oven for forty-five minutes. Remove. Cut the heart cherries in half. Spread evenly on top of the cake. Cover everything with aluminum foil. Put back in the oven and finish baking for 1 and a quarter hours.
