For slippery worms, first pull the flexible part of the straws all the way apart. Place the straws close together in an empty juice carton. As little space as possible should be left in between.
Heat 1000 ml of cherry juice in one pot and the rest in the other. Add the whipped cream to the 500 ml of cherry juice.
Stir the gelatin into the hot cherry juice or cherry juice-whipped cream mixture according to package directions. Add a few drops of food coloring to the pure cherry juice, if desired.
Carefully empty the pure cherry juice into the juice packet first. Then the one with whipped cream. You can also empty both in alternately. Let cool and then refrigerate overnight.
When the mixture has set, remove the straws from the package and squeeze out the slippery worms. This is best done by briefly holding the straws under hot water.
